Trilion Quality Systems is pleased to present “Rotating Equipment Reliability Using Digital Image Correlation” at the 2018 Turbomachinery and Pump Symposium. Come hear DJ Winterhoff give this engaging presentation.
Trilion is pleased to be presenting a paper at the Salon Industriel de Quebec on October 2nd, 2018.
Please join us on Wednesday, October 10th at 2:00PM EDT for a webinar hosted by NASA Tech Briefs. We are pleased to present this webinar with MTS Systems.
Trilion Quality Systems has partnered with MTS Systems to offer an array of test solutions that combine MTS loading solutions with ARAMIS non-contact sensors.
MTS’ customers employ its mechanical test equipment to measure strains and displacements on test specimens for material characterization, component and assembly testing, or to validate Finite Element Analysis. ARAMIS 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) provides a non-contacting means for measuring 3D coordinates, displacements and strains of materials and structures under test. This capability enables MTS test systems to be used for rapid full-field measurements, ranging from material characterization to full component testing.
This webinar will present case studies that demonstrate the integration of MTS loading solutions with ARAMIS non-contact sensors for measuring material properties, characterizing failure modes on structures, validating FEA and performing dynamic and vibration analysis.
Please join us at CAMX 2018 where we will be exhibiting in booth M32.
iDICs 2018 – China
Final dates to be decided.
The iDICs 2018 Conference and Workshop provides a forum to extend the frontiers of DIC technology, standardize its use, and improve its practice. This meeting brings together leading experts from industry, academia, and laboratories from around the world. Since its inception in 2015, it has become the centralized nucleus for the state-of-the-art in DIC.
Please join us at The Aerospace Testing Seminar on October 22-25 in Los Angeles, CA, where our President, John Tyson, is presenting his latest papers. The first paper will be presented on Oct 23, at 4:20 PM and the second paper will be presented Oct 24 at 3:00 PM

Join us Wednesday, December 5th from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM as we host a webinar with Photron high-speed camera. The webinar will be hosted by two world-class engineers who are experts in their respected fields. You’re not going to want to miss this great event!
3D Displacement and Strain Measurements With High-Speed Cameras
Digital image correlation (DIC) is a widely used full-field measurement technique, in which a calibrated stereo camera pair determines the 3D coordinates of thousands of points within a dot pattern that is applied with spray paint or ink.
During rapid post-processing, reference coordinates are subtracted from each measurement frame, thus obtaining full-field 3D displacements and directional and principal strains that can be viewed as color maps, movies, vectors, time histories, etc. The system can determine local displacements at the micron level despite significant rigid body motion.
This seminar will discuss the general benefits of full-field measurements, which include visualizing strain gradients and hot spots, verification, and iteration of finite element models, and making otherwise impossible measurements. Digital high-speed cameras have been used for DIC at speeds up to 300,000 frames per second, but many applications only require 1,000-10,000 frames per second. Much more data is obtained much more easily than with strain gauges, draw wires, LVDTs, etc.
We will review important high-speed camera features and options as well as the different price/performance points available in the Photron product line, and will provide details on the new FASTCAM Nova camera model and PFV4 control software.
Numerous high-speed applications will be shown, including:
Biomechanics Impact Testing
Helmet Ballistic Impacts
Hopkinson Bar High Strain Rate Testing
Explosive Loading of Sheet Metal
Rotor Blade Vibrations on Hovering Helicopter
Rocket Nozzle Deformations
Parachute Strains During Drop Tests
Crossbow Deformations
Microelectronics and Device Drop Testing
Air Blast Effect Testing
