Next-Generation High-Speed Measurement Workshop

Performing non-contact strain and displacement measurements with optical equipment.

Banner for Next-Generation High-Speed Measurement Workshop

Do you have an interest in high-speed strain and displacement measurements? Regardless of what type of high-speed camera you use, or even if you don’t have one at all, this workshop will show you how to turn your images into quantitative results for your testing using our Digital Image Correlation software.

Join us at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (just outside of Dayton) for our half-day Next-Generation High-Speed Measurement Workshop. This event will showcase how easily you can take high-speed measurements with ARAMIS 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) System, including high-speed strain, displacements, and vibration analysis measurements. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the experts at Photron High-Speed Cameras. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to become expert users in the art of high-speed digital image correlation!

Digital Image Correlation provides precise measurements of real, complex materials and structures, making it the perfect tool in aerospace testing. Using high-speed camera equipment can provide critical data for accurate measurement and precise validation of computer models. Opening the door for several applications such as ballistic impact, bomb blast effect testing, crash testing, Hopkinson Bar testing, etc. ARAMIS is reported to be 10x cheaper than traditional gages, 50x faster to use, and 100x more data for better model validation!

Included with the workshop is a free copy of our 2D evaluation software. Trilion can readily import test images from any external camera, making this workshop open to all who have high-speed camera equipment.

Who should attend?

Managers, engineers, R&D scientists, technicians, executives, academics, and students are all invited to enhance their career in non-contact measurement through this network and knowledge sharing event.

Hosts:

Justin Bucienski, Trilion Quality Systems, and John Huhn, Photron

Aim of the Workshop?

To deliver technical information for using images from high-speed cameras to conduct non-contact measurement. The content will cover:

  • A greater understanding of types of high-speed optical testing
  • Basic principles of Digital Image Correlation
  • Technical setup and software import of images
  • The use of effective 2D and 3D digital image correlation
  • Practical applications you can develop across material testing, structural testing, vibration analysis, and additive manufacturing

Where:

National Museum of the U.S. Air Force

1100 Spaatz Street

PO Box 33624

Wright-Patterson AFB OH

Room: TBA

Additional Information:

  • Cost of Event: Free
  • Included with registration is a copy of the latest GOM correlation software
  • Lunch and two coffee breaks are included in your registration — giving you the additional opportunity to speak with experts and enjoy the museum! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
