Get all the need-to-know information on Ultrahigh-Speed Digital Image Correlation (DIC) measurements in 30 minutes with this Express Insight course on May 19th, from 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm EDT. This event will feature speakers Kyle Gilroy from Vision Research – AMETEK, an expert with Phantom Cameras, and one of our own experts with HSV-DIC, Charles-Olivier Amyot, as they discuss the incredible capabilities of the revolutionary TMX 7510 camera.
3D-DIC is a widely used, full-field measurement technique, in which a calibrated stereo camera pair determines the 3D coordinates of thousands of points based on features in the pictures applied with spray paint or ink. Combining this technique with the unprecedented Gigapixel throughput and Back-Side Illumination of the Phantom TMX, you end up with the perfect tool for measuring the full-field displacements and strains. This opens up a new range of possibilities for fracture mechanics, ballistic, impact, shockwave, and brittle materials testing.
The TMX 7510 has 75 Gigapixel throughput, enabling recording speeds of over half a million frames per second in standard mode and up to 1.75M fps FAST mode. This incredibly light sensitive sensor even boasts a minimum shutter speed of 95 nanoseconds and does the work of thousands of strain gages with a single picture. Charles and Kyle will show you how to get full-field 3D displacements and strains that can be viewed as color maps, movies, vectors, time histories, and more. The system can determine local displacements at the micron level despite significant rigid body motion.
This event will feature several real-life high-speed applications demonstrating the capability of ARAMIS, our 3D DIC system paired with Phantom cameras, including:
